Help with headlights please.....
Hi, can anyone help me please?
I have recently purchased a BMW 530d 2011 with high beam assist and adaptive headlights, I went to drive it at night a few weeks ago and my main beam does not work nor do the angel eyes but the dipped xenon beam and indicators work ok with no faults on the idrive screen, after some investigation I have found that the previous owner has put in 2013/14 lci headlights. Can this be converted? I have looked into buying two 2011 adaptive headlights from ebay and other places but they are too expensive I'm not worried if it has got the adaptive side so can I get away with buying two without adaptive and just have the adaptive side coded out? I'd just like to get the main beam working! Your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks |

Do you mean both lights?
Only the outer light is functional... it is both low and high beams. You mentioned the angel eyes also not working so maybe I misunderstood? |

So he upgraded the lights to the 2014 setup? Can you give us some pics? Sounds like a retrofit that isn't fully complete or you may have been duped into believing they were fitted from factory?

yes the inner lights are now cornering lights (if the car has adaptive lights)
Main beam flips up a shutter on the outer lights result in the lights lighting up the top of the trees. |
