Enhanced Bluetooth Coding - BimmerTech

Hello,

I just bought a new 550i (my fifth 5 series car and 2nd 550i) and realized that it does not have the office feature setup in the menu. This was an option I used all the time on my last car to read emails (or have them read to me) from my business Blackberry.

I saw a thread on here that I can't seem to find now that talked about BimmerTech. I reached out and they confirmed that my car VIN is eligible to be coded for EBT.

Has anyone else on here done this? I'm in the US, but my understanding is it can be done remotely. Also, is anyone aware if there are any warranty issues after having this done?

Any feedback you can provide would be helpful. Thanks!

Adding office feature does not hurt the reliability of the vehicle or the infotainment system. However, they may deny warranty claims when your infotainment fails because you tampered/modified one of their systems. I believe all warranties will deny coverage if you modified something.

But you can take them to civil court if they do. If you're just unlocking features that are already there, it shouldn't affect the reliability. Technically, you didn't modify the vehicle. It's up the the judge how they interpret it.

This activation is transparent to BMW dealers. Their diagnostic computer will not detect any tampering or modifications. There is no risk of voiding the warranty.

So can this be programmed to all F10 5 series or is there additional module that needs to be purchased to get this to work?

Email us your VIN and we will confirm if you need additional hardware or just software activation.
