It's all new to me.
Hi all,
I have recently picked up a 520d F10, it's my 1st Beemer having spent the last 12 years in various Hondas. The car is a 2012 in sopishto grey, with Pro Nav and Xenons. I wouldn't say I have grand plans for it as it's my daily driver doing 300 miles a week. I think maybe tidy it up a bit add some bigger wheels as the OEM 17's look tiny. A sensible drop on the suspension and maybe look to upgrade the speakers in the future. Quick pic with my Type R. |

Thanks. The R is going up for sale can't keep both 17's just look silly but can't go to big due to budget and poor A roads on my commute. Thinking of 19's, maybe BBS CH or Rohana RC10. |

The style 234 18's sit quite well on the F10. They're factory spec on the 5GT, 6 and 7 series and you can pick them up fairly cheap on ebay and replace the tyres. I'm running them on 245/45 18 non-runflats on my 535d at the moment and think they look ok and they cope well with the weight and the power.
Will post a pic.... |

A couple of views..... bought these for about £450 plus postage from German ebay, complete with latest RDC sensors, had fairly worn tyres but they were wrong size for F10 and I wanted to replace them anyway. Got Primacy 3 non-RFTs for under £400 the set from tyreleader

I wonder if anyone has ever had any issues with an insurance claim after fitting non-rft... Say you had damage after a blowout and the insurer picked up on the tyre change and tried to argue that the damage was excessive due to running non-BMW approved set up.
Appreciate this is probably an unlikely scenario but with insurers trying to get away with not paying out rather than representing their customers interests nowadays, I was curious as to whether anyone had come across this scenario yet. |

We should also notify when we change to winter tyres (if we do) for the same reason, it is on record. Again a no cost option, if we fit OEM wheels and correct size/speed rating. HighlandPete |

I had a big argument with LV a few years back because they wanted to bump up my premium due to 'modifications' when I declared my winter wheels & non-rft winter tyres, but they did eventually back down & noted it on the policy for NO additional charge.

A very good call to contact them before switching the tyres and I guess to notify when getting renewal quotes from new insurers

I notified my insurer - Direct Line - and they were fine with the switch. I confirmed that the tyres were still the correct load and speed rating.

Good choice! I've got these 18" 350M within the M Sport package. Have them painted in matte black and then added 5mm front and 15 mm rear H&R spacers for better fit to fenders. The only issue is the small M emblems are stickers and tend to fall off when pressure washed.
