how much is a new M5 exhaust (muffler back)?

Anyone know what a new M5 exhaust goes for (mufflers back)? unfort they don't offer the performance exhaust for the 550 so what thinking about getting the m5 exhaust and m5 diffuser. will call dealer tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone happens to know offhand. assume it is cheaper than the dinan, etc.

There are a couple other companies that would probably provide you with an exhaust note/sound thats in the same ballpark if not cheaper. Probably sound even better...

Eissenman Race is about $2800. Great sound and fitment too. If you want an M5 I would also go suggest checking in the M5 posts forum or classified. Enough guys have modded out their F10 M5s for aftermarket exhausts that there's usual a set from an M5 or M6 for sale that you can probably pickup for under $1k. GL

Is there a fit issue with M5 exhaust on a 550i (non M package) or will M5 exhaust fit fine with the stock 550i diffuser?

M5 exhaust should fit with no problems. They're basically same exhaust for v8 turbo engines so pipe diameter will be the same. Only issue you will likely find is rear difuser fitment. M5 outlets on the rear difuser lie more inboard than those on the M Sport 550i so IF you are able to source a set of OEM M5 mufflers you'll need to get the M5 OEM rear difuser as well to ensure proper alignment of your tips as they will then not exit properly on the OEM M Sport one as they won't align.

FYI, they are not the same pipe diameter.
550 is 70mm
M5 80mm

Thanks..interesting my shop had said they were but maybe they were saying that an adapter could be made to couple them quite easily. Thanks for the update.

Very helpful. Thanks. Might be cheaper to go with Eisenmann / Meisterschaft instead of having to buy M5 exhaust and diffuser.

You can probably find a used M5 exhaust for $800-1000k from someone and the diffuser will cost you about $350 painted and add another $100-150 installed for them all so I'd think you could do it under $2k. An Eisenmann will run you about $2800 a Meisterschaft a little more but IMHO they will likely sound better than the OEM one. If you want PM and I can send you my contact I got my Eisenmann from [its my 3rd time I've gone to them to get me an Eisenmann for one of my cars so that should tell you that their customer service is outstanding]!

They go around 800-1000 for the full exhaust from the downpipes forward.
