Question Ultra Low Milage 2014 M Sport Auction

Hello crowd,

Long time lurker and e46 Fanatic here (the good ole days). I have my eye on a ultra low mileage 535i M Sport with a 6/2014 build date in mind.

I have sent over my security deposit, but still somewhat perplexed as why this could have been returned with only 624 original miles. Clean carfax and no issues that I can find. Didn't show as a exec demo or any other "branded" title.

What are your thoughts as to why, and would any of you have hesitations?

Link below, and please let me know before I seal the deal tomorrow. Excited to be part of the f10 LCI crowd now!

I wouldn't worry about.

Their could be a zillion reasons that have nothing to do with the car. Divorce, sudden loss of income, career moves the owner out of the country, or perhaps the original buyer dreamed of getting a BMW... not actually driving one. Happens to Porsches all the time... "Milestone" accomplishment and then people move on to the next milestone.

I wouldn't assume it's fine, but it probably is.

Btw, I'm hoping to see my new-to-me 30,000 mile Imperial Blue 6MT M-Sport for the first time later today. I was originally ambivalent on M-sport cosmetics, but the pictures you've posted are certainly adding to my excitement.

You say it was built 06/2014, however when was it registered? If it was also registered close to that date I would be curious as to why it's got so little mileage in almost a year on the road.

I take it that it's an independent dealer, what information have they given you about the car/previous owner?

Thanks guys. The car was first registered 12/14, and then sent to auction 3 months later.

Dealer picked it up from auction so no real knowledge of the last owner. The only reason I question I guess, is that I'm buying sight unseen from Georgia (car was auctioned in Tennesee) and I am in AZ.

Any feedback on the $53,000 price tag, which includes shipping?

Great feedback. Yes there is a full 3 years of warranty from the factory remaining.

Any number of things could have happened or didn't happen
.
I was looking for a 2011 back in 2012 and got a call from dealer. Had a great deal.
Fairly loaded car had 133km (82mi), had been plated for two weeks and returned to trade for a 3 series. It turns out an old man (I believe 82 or 92) had bought the car and then he lost his license. I saved over $10,000 off MSRP, saved shipping and all the other new car add-ons. Needless to say, I'm still extremely happy.

Take a chance if warranty still in place as you say. It could have been a demo for a month until 2015s arrived then dumped for new 2015 stock based on the build date.

That's good feedback. I think I will get it done and will be happy.

Saw a member had a misrepresented carfax. Any other sources I should check to confirm no title or maintenance/insurance claims?

Any feedback on pricing?
Thanks again

Yes, it was $67,000. I'm feeling like its a good deal, although my local dealer (BMW N. Scottsdale) is trying to get back in the game after calling them to confirm the options and Sticker price of this car.

N Scottsdale is offering a new 535i M Sport for $56,000 which has a 62,000 sticker. Can probably improve the price slightly, but no head up or PDC..

Now I'm really confused as to what to do..

Thoughts?

Local dealer can also take an old trade to simplify the deal but for some reason PDC and head up are making it a tough choice. Price will be nearly identical..

PDC is very useful, especially with a big car with a long hood like the F10. I personally wouldn't sacrifice that feature. Regarding the auction vehicle, I'm not sure why a low mileage really clean car would go to auction rather than a Dealer doing a CPO on it, but there could be any number of reasons. If you decide to go with a new F10, 10% under MSRP is not unreasonable, especially if you shop Los Angeles area dealers.
Best of luck.
