Painting or powder coating rims

I have a question, does painting or powder coating factory stock rims devalue the price of a car?

Not at all, imo... look at it as if your wheel have a curb rash all over, i think thats worst than powder coat or painting..

I guess it depends on the buyer. Some want it stock. Some wants it be crowd catcher.

I would agree and add that most buyers would prefer stock. Remember that "most" buyers would never be on a site such as this.

In general yes. Most people prefer a car to be stock. And even most enthusiasts such as ourselves like to start with a clean slate (stock car) when we begin modding.

Are we discussing devalue in a general sense? Because if in association to personal sales, then its contingent on the buyers personal preference. Still, as most have already stated...the masses do prefer it undressed and stock.

When a shopper sees wheels that aren't pristine oem they wonder what else isn't pristine oem. Yes, it reduces the value of a car by a lot when the wheels are painted or replaced. If you don't like the oem wheels then store them in perfect condition so you can put them back on when it's time to sell. Take offs aren't worth much so it makes sense to store them if you can.
