Odd request but i want smaller backup wheels

So i was thinking that i want to make the ride of my 550 xdrive even smoother . In comfort+ the car feels great and takes bumps better then any bimmer i have ever owned . However i want this thing to feel like iam riding on air .

I wanted to see what is the smallest wheel i could run and the largest thickness tire i could run in order to make this car feel like butter during the colder months .

Thanks guys.

18" wheels is needed to clear the brakes.

But to increase the comfort you can fit +1 tires, 245/50-18 instead of OEM tire size 245/45-18.

I've seen 528i with 17" wheels. Does the 550i have a different brake package?

Yes, 17" won't fit the 550.

550i has much larger brakes to compensate for the added weight, power/speed.

Basically the faster/heavier you are the more brakes you need!
