One drawback to the premium sound system.

The premium sound system takes so much power that whenever I have on high volume, the start stop function re-start the car while I am at a red light. I guess thats the price I have to pay for high fidelity

After a couple of days of city driving I got the message that the battery is almost empty.
This is during summer and warm weather. I am starting to dislike Start/Stop even more.
How environmentally friendly is it to replace the battery very often because the car allows it to discharge too much?

I've got the premium and not noticed this either. For the battery I'd assume the system is configured to charge when it gets to a certian point , not jsut when dlowing down as it would normally do.
Wonder if sotp start is a big drain on teh battery then, I always assume that startin a car was a big (brief) drain.
Perhaps switching off stop /start will help matters.Id rather spend the money on fuel than risk having a flat battery and getting stranded.

You sure its the stereo and not the outside temp? Now that we are routinely above 80 degrees in the Northeast, the car will start up from SS when I have the AC running and I am at a stop light. Its designed to do that.

The AC is another big draw from the bettery, but I notice when I turn my radio up, the car starts up more often. The sound system is rated at 600 watts, even if I am only using 300 watts, its still a big draw. Maybe I should just turn my radio volume down a bit
