Boot light
My boot is currently in total darkness whenever I open it as the light has stopped working. I picked up a new bulb but that didn't fix it.
Most bizarre. Anyone else had this? Any suggestions? |

Good shout, not checked that. I will give it a try. It raises a few questions though:
a) Where is the fusebox? b) Presumably fuses blow for a reason which indicates something must have caused this to happen. As far as I am aware the boot bulb in my 13 year old E39 is the factory original (I have not changed it in 8 years) so it seems odd that I'm having issues with the F10. The car is actually under AUC warranty but I'm trying to avoid them spending an hour and £110 to tell me it was a fuse or something and its not covered |

The light will not be individually fused. If it's the only thing faulty, and you've tried a new bulb, it's far more likely to be the boot switch. If you start the car and open the boot do you get a warning on the dash as you would if you open a door?

Yea, just been out to the car and the fuse diagram is a collection of pictures none of which show a boot light and all of which reference as many as 6 different fuses.
Everything else works fine, boot release works fine, the car warns of Boot Open when you open the boot with the engine on, the issue is simply that the light does not illuminate when the boot is opened |
