News said they crossed the double solid line. 50k/h+ over speed, What's the penalty? I was caught once 30k/h+ over speed and 5 points deduction.

Let's see, dangerous driving 10 points, driving in excess of 50+km/h 10 points, crossing double white 3 points. Already 23 points out of 15 possible points that you can deduct.

Wonder if they were trying to evade the police too, if they did that's criminal offense and 3 more points. Good luck to them.

Edit: Forgot the racing part, 10 points. 36 points... Speechless.

Oh no! If pingu got his incense suspended that would be really cruel. Don't think he can live a day without driving. Don't think they were evading though.

Hey guys,

I know a few of you HK folks are running Michelin PSS in 245/35/20 size. Can you take a look on your sidewall if you see a "K1" marking on the tire? Its pretty big and should be next to where it says PSS.

K1 marking means its a Ferrari spec tire and I'm just curious if all 245/35/20 PSS have this or not. Seems like in pictures the HK cars with this tire looks thicker than guys in the US with the same size tire mounted on the same with width rim.

Thanks!
Alan

I just had a dent on my wind screen driving on To Lo Highway. Anyone knows which shop is good for repair and roughly how much?

Dent is not that big, just around 3mm or so.

Try the BMW HK Glass repair, it is not expensive. As long as the dent is not directly in front of you or near the rim of the windshield, it is repairable.

Fixing ain't cheap if I remembered correctly, if it cost a thousand or so then IMO leave it. Wait till it cracks then get it replace using insurance. You don't need to pay any deductable if you use Allianz, right mic?

For my insurance company, is $3000 and wouldn't affect NCB if you buy insurance from them next year.

If I remembered correctly, one dent is around $300, please double check with the service advisor. Allianz needs you to pay $3000 deductable too, I am a unlucky "expert" in windshield replacement, all my cars in HK, including the X6 had the windshield replaced.

But all your cars in HK never go past the 30,000km mark

Thanks for the tip. Actually got it fixed at Japan Glass. $350. Pretty good, took 45mins (another car was in progress, otherwise will be faster). Can not fixed perfectly as they said, there still is a tiny pinhole. Good enough IMO.

Don't want to go to dealer coz they might keep my car for 2 days. haha.

I think as long as the windshield is repairable, don't want to replace it. All outside windsheilds are not OE and dealer one will cost me. I think my insurance only covers certain amount and I still need to dig out some fund.

Great to hear that!

My experience in replacing the Windshield in the dealer for the E60 is around $15000, and for the X6 is $22000. Luckily, I got the insurance to cover that. You know they charged $180 for the little sticker on the upper left corner of the windshiedl.......

Saying Hi to fellow HK members. I will be taking delivery on my MY12 M5 in about 2 weeks. Will try to attend if there is any local meet coming up in the summer.
