2012 535i F10 water pump error
Has anyone had an issue where the water pump would not start or error on a cold start and then start once the car is turned off and restarted?
It's happened to me twice now, when I start in the morning the fan runs at high-speed, I get a high temperature light, pullover to the side of the road and turn off the car for three or four minutes. When I restart the car the water pump then works. I know it's the water pump not working because when I turn the heat all the way to hot it blows out cool air. As soon as I restart the car, he will begin blowing hot again. |

It could be thermostat and/or water pump. I would replace both before you get your engine overheated. It may stop working while you are driving at high speed, causing more damage as temp climes up.
