Prediction? 535i becomes a 540i..
Anyone think the 535i will morph to the new 540i like the 640i?
I'd love to see a little more HP on that 5 with the I6. Still think its the perfect match if it was given just a little more HP. The New turbo 528 makin 260lbs makes a great case for a little HP bump for the 535i. BMW marketing aside, has anyone heard if they will tweak power? |

The 2013 535i will come with the higher output N55, same spec found on the 740i/640i. This move is needed to match the performance of Audi's A6 3.0 TSFI's 310hp/325lb tq. Right now, the 535i is slightly slower than the Audi A6. Also, this is needed to distinguish the performance of the *35i from *28i, as they're too close for the price difference.
I don't think a rebadge to 540i is required. |

Name change: I don't think so. The 535i label has been with the car a long time, so there's some marketing and familiarity with the model name and number.
Engine Change: Most likely the same N55HP that powers the aforementioned models will migrate to the 5 series as well. Timing: Who knows? My guess is LCI which would be MY 2014.

Agreed power output needs to be bumped
the x35 name is kinda iconic though, but who knows. you can make anything iconic these days if you hire the right MBA's. People will buy anything. |

JB3 Stage 1 has been available for the F10 535 for awhile now. Not a full blown tune with maximum gains but it is the only option for now. Plus side is that it is dirt cheap at around 3-400 last i checked.
