Ar designs n63 downpipe install

I have a question on install. My local shop is trying to install my ar downpipes. They said they are having a problem with fitment and that the pipes are too short..does anyone have any insight to this?

this is the driver side...ltmoterwerks says its too tight of a fit...they are able to tighten it but feel it will break something while driving

this is the passenger side...there is about a 1/2 inch gap between the transmission bracket. there is no way to bolt it up

So then tell them to measure the gap and add the difference to exhaust length

That wont work because there is a bracket on each side of the downpipe that connects to the transmission. It goes downpipe/bracket/exhaust. The gap lies between the dp and bracket. There is no gap between the bracket and exhaust. Would it be wise to have them extend the downpipe or would that dammage the intergrity of them?

There was a thread in the classified section re: computability issues with DP's on a particular motor... looked and didn't find it. May be worth researching.
Personally, I would NOT cut the DP's. If they don't fit- they don't fit.

What about adding to the end of the downpipe? Maybe a spacer and extension?

Just add extra length to exhaust... It's easy cut it in between before the flange and extend it.

Is the bracket to the tranmission adjustable? If it could move up a half inch adding some extra piping to the exhaust would work. I will be at the shop tomorrow to try to help them figure it out. I will post new pics to show exactley what im talking about. Thanks for the help!

Even though cutting the stock exhaust is a quick fix I wouldn't do it. What happens when you have to take the car in for warranty repair or put your car back to stock when you sell it? I could understand if these were $300 ebay downpipes but they aren't. You paid a ton for a quality product and I'd take it up with them first.

That's good to hear and something to keep in mind when ordering mine (eventually).
