Oh damn! is there any shaft play? Turbos can be rebuilt... it shouldn't cost too much Unless it cost more because it is BMW?

Can you upgrade to a bigger turbo? I would think you will need to get an update the engine tune as well.

If u look up pureturbos on instgram they have a stage 1 rebuild and stage 2 option as far as a regular rebuild junkyard for a replacement but wouldnt suggest that and im sure a pureturbo upg will b way less then bmw charges

I'd opt to see if an upgrade will work but I think u would need a flash tune vs a piggyback since u are changing the whole mapping parameters? I maybe wrong tho? Maybe a tech guru can chime in? would a turbo from a 550 work?

Looking at that I wonder what damage those bits have done to the rest of the engine.

If u upgrade on bigger Turbo I'd look into a flash tune to accommodate more air/fuel but I wonder because I haven't done my homework on the stock internals can the motor run safely without detonation? I'm assuming bigger injectors bigger fuel pump?
