2012 BMW 535 xdrive transfer case issue
Does anyone have issues with the transfer case? I just bought it with 27k miles and now stuck with a $3300 job to replace the transfer case at 28k miles. Has this happened on anyone's F10? It was not giving or throwing any codes. It was just making a rubbing sound at slow speeds. And it was not during acceleration or braking. Car doesn't jerk or perform differently. It is just the sound.

I have a few other driveline whines I'll be complaining about before the extended warranty expires. Maybe I'll end up with diffs and transmission too buy the time it's done. I'm not looking to create problems, just to make sure any latent problems don't wait until after warranty to rear their head. |

2013 550 with 60,000km the transfer case replaced. I didn?t have any drive train malfunctions. Only under heavy load would feel a chugging.

My car is currently at BMW dealer. Complaint was hesitation at wot. Looked at datalogs and it shows car is overboosting with large throttle closures. Can this be caused by a bad transfer case. $3800....Covered under warranty !!!!

jesus christ, 27K and already the transfer case exploded? that's just unacceptable. my recommendation? just remove that shit all together and make your car RWD. you'll be happy you did.
