It depends. Sometimes a new spring roll-out gets the next model year designation. Other times the new model year starts after the August plant shutdown. Sometimes there are changes that coincide with the model year designation. Other times the changes come mid-year without a model-year change. Sometimes there's a new model year with no changes of note. The one constant is that a newer car (in terms of model year) is, other things being equal, always worth more on the used car market.

The only certain change for all F10's in MY 2012 will be a price increase. The 528i will probably have a 4 cyl turbo engine. There may be a diesel option and possibly a hybrid version as well. Aside from the powertrain differences, the other things will probably be minimal like, colors, perhaps a start/stop function to save fuel. If you already have a functioning car, it's always better to wait, rationally speaking of course.

Off topic. How do you like your 535i. Thinking about buying one or going for the 528i but doing ED either way.

Thnks

Probably Aug/Sept production for 2012 model year, but as BMW change things on a rolling 3 month basis these days - and especially with this model - no point in waiting all the time as something else will always change soon after you got it. C'est la vie.

Great car. More luxury than sport, but I knew that going into it. Definitely better than anything in it's class. We'll have to see what Audi has to offer with the A6, but till then, the 5 is still the benchmark.
