What was included in your trunk kit when you ought your 5 series? I only recieved the tow hook and screwdriver. Is that all that comes with it? Or was there suppose to be more?

You should also have the wheel lug bolt adapter, otherwise you'll be in trouble if you need to change a tyre. It's item 8 here: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=637242
The extra spaces are for the 1st aid kit and warning triangle, but they're only supplied with EU spec cars.

For me, the lug bolt adapter was not placed in the tool kit, but instead in the packaging that those special lug bolts came within. They put the other bolts they removeed in that package apparently as well. It took me a month to figure this out (not that I needed it, but still....). May save you some time.

If your car is US spec, you will not find any other item in your tool kit other than the ones you already have and the lug bolt adapter.

You have everything. Lug adapter is only if you got the anti theft lugs.

You can search other threads on why the kit is so barren in the US, and where to source the components.

I am pretty sure I dont have a lug adapter in my 2012 528i, only tow hook and a useless screwdriver. I'll check though...

I did not ask for the anti-theft lugs, I did not pay anythign extra for them. So unless they are somehow standard on 550's and optional on the rest, anyone else in the US should be getting them too...

Easy to identify; look at them on the mounted wheels, and see if one differs from the rest with a star-ish pattern...

One locking lug bolt per wheel is standard in the UK. I suppose that, in a very small way, it offsets the price difference - you lucky guys pay considerably less for a same-spec car, yet it has to be shipped across the Atlantic as opposed to a few miles over/under the English Channel. That's taxation for you
