Also on the bms stage 1 it is set at 2.25 psi over stock as default. With a USB cabs from them and the software interface you can modify it but should do so with much caution. Unless you're modded or running race gas I wouldn't up the boost. A full stock car can safely up it from 2.25+ to 4+. Race gas is considered to be anything 100 octane and over.

Where in ny are you. I'd love to meet up to compare the tu vs the old both with the tune. Can see how effective it is on the tu since nobody has if dyno'd yet. Unless you want to accompany me to dyno in a few weeks. Pm me if so.
I'm in Nassau County, Woodbury area. There are quite a few people here from NY and NJ. If you're local, then sure anytime. I'm willing to go to the Dyno but I need to get the BMS first.

Thanks for your explanation regarding the boost. I understand better now.

Wow, only 10-15 minutes... Sounds good. I thought it was a longer install. Thanks for offering to help out.

I have 350 miles on mine. Decided i was going to get on it a few times,
Turned off both dsc and dtc put it in sports + and sports mode on tranny.

went to a clear street, stopped slammed on gas. laggg then BOOM. at about 4-5k ish my tires broke a loose a bit. only went maybe 0-65-70ish. shift into 2nd gear was hard and fast.

2nd run wanted to try paddle shifters.. Went to a stop put it in M1 took off, LAGGG.. started braking lose around 4kish again.. then hit rev limiter lol then hit 2nd.

Seems like rev limiter is around 6300? or so?

WHERES MY SHIFT LIGHT.. lol

Only reason I even got on the car, is because I'm driving 15mins to Burger tomorrow to get a tune. and I need some sort of Reference.. Alan, I'm surprised with a Stage 1 your not breaking lose..
I read you didn't power break or Launch control.. because your car is soo new, so is mine and thats why I didn't bother either..

I was very disappointed with the punch off the line. like nothing happens for a split second.

When your doing a rolling start .. it takes off like crazy though, Just stand still = Needs work.

Yes this is EXACTLY how my 550 feels. The tune doesn't change this.

From anything but standstill the car is a rocket but if you are at a full stop and you just floor it ....there is a like a 1-1.5 sec delay then BOOM it takes off like a rocket.

I realize that my tires are actually breaking loose when boost hits because I notice my traction control light flashing but you don't hear the tires chirping at all. Again i've yet to test out launch control but i will be doing it real soon since i just hit 1200 miles on my car.

I posted in another thread on bimmerfest.com about the LCI changes BMW made to the car and the transmission was one of them. My guess it was to handle the stress of Launch Control which is why the car feels different from standing start if you don't use LC.

I'll report back after using Launch Control this weekend

I wonder if it's the electronic differential causing the feeling of hesitation.

traction control was still on. I never turn it off unless i plan on messing around but realized that if i want to feel max acceleration of this car i need to turn it off unlike my previous 535xi.

Can't wait to see your review about it. I got mine installed so early on I don't even remember how the car felt pre tune.

^^ yeah you are probably right. With 445hp and 480tq stock it was already a very fast car and adding this didn't really make it feel THAT much quicker. Its def. not like when I added a tune to my N54 335. Now THAT was night and day difference. Maybe we need to turn up the boost like Badblack550xi with some race gas
