Problem playing streaming audio when my charging cable is not connected

Hey Guys,

So I just got the 2015 550ix. Everything so far has been basically perfect, but the one thing that really bugs me is I can't get Pandora or di.fm (basically any streaming service) to play without connecting my cable (I have an iphone 5s).

Even with the cable connected pandora sometimes messes up: It shows the BMW logo on the bottom of the screen with pandora on top, but I can't seem to control it at all at times, no music no nothing)

Does anyone else have this issue?

What type of cable are you using? I just recently discovered (after nearly four years) that the reason I wasn't able to view album artwork when my iPod Nano is connected to my 2011 F10 is because I've been relying on BMW's "Y" adapter that came with my car (30 pin to USB & 3.5mm audio).

When I switched to an Apple cable (30 pin to USB only), the problem was resolved...

I actually figured it out guys. They don't have a fix quite yet for this, but they have a workaround. I spoke to a BMW Genius, whatever that is

Basically, this is a iphone 5/5s issue. For anyone else having this problem you fire up the streaming app, turn on the radio, then press media again and it will start working.
