Deforst Fan Too Nosiy? in 2012 528 Xi?

I have a 2012 528 Xi. When I start the front wnd shield defroster, the fan is "very" loud like a jet engine or let us say way too loud.

Is this by design or does it need to be fixed?

Other 528 users, do you have the same issue or is your fan quieter?

There's no such thing as something for nothing; a fan that can shift as much air as that is bound to make a lot of noise.

One thing I miss about my e60 was the ability to customize to a detail the heating/cooling. Unless I am missing a screen somewhere I havent been able to do that with my F10.

I too dislike how the fan comes on full blast during front defrost and you have to quickly turn the fan down lest my fro get all screwed up in the morning.

Got to disagree with you on this one
I know it's noisy, but it only takes a few seconds to clear the windscreen and side windows and, IMO, it's well worth putting up with the noise to have everything demisted so quickly - quite simply, the most efficient I've ever come across
