Car value
It has been decided by 'er indoors' that we should buy a bigger house, so just interested in seeing how much my car is currently worth after 5 Months of ownership,
The rrp was £46k but I got it for a LOT less than that. I carried out the obvious process first, going via various BMW dealers, who offered book price of £27k I came across a site on-line car buying site which allows you to add additional options that came with the car and the value came to £35k, which made more sense. But I can't remember that site and I don''t retain my history in IE. Have any of you guys come across sites like this where you can add the options that came with the car to increase the value?

no But I'd assume the dealer would take that into account when giving you a price. AFterall they will have the reg / vin and be able to confirm whats in the car.
Not surprised you're going to take a hit on the price after 5 months. Woth looking at those price guide books as well to see if the dealer is about right. I'd hate to see what price they put the car up for sale , no doubt a few thousand to it. Leased or bought outright? |

When you posted about your original purchase, you said you had a discount of 19% on the final invoice price, so your £46K retail becomes £37.25K. Are you really expecting £35K for it? That would mean a cost to you of £350 per month.

That's the interesting bit, because all of the dealers who I spoke to said that the only options that they take into account are Auto and prof media. No other option matters - which I think is silly.
If I do manage to find that site, I will post it up on here.

Auto and pro media are the main options that'll sell the car. The rest are really just nice extras. Although I suspect M-Sport Plus will add value too.
£35k would be a dream come true, lol. I'd be happy with that for my 530d, lol. But then my car doesn't quite have the same spec as yours. I would thing somewhere around the £27k mark would be right to sell it back to the dealer. And they will probably put it on the forecourt for £35. Autotrader it for £32k and see what happens? Although I can't imagine there are too many people out there financing that sort of money on their own. |

Out of interest are you buying a cheaper replacement car? If so part ex'ing it will give you a better deal.
I've just done this for my new 3 series, the best before hand was £23,500 selling direct, part ex'd it for £27k |
