turbo cars vs naturally aspirated
the f10 is my 2nd turbo car my first was an evo..and to me it seems like it depends on the day and humidity the car adapts to the weather...the cooler the faster the hotter the slower and jus some normal days it feels like it lags.now my brother has an m5 and any day of the week hot or cold it doesn't seem to hesitate any thoughts?

Cars that I’ve had in the past, whether turbo or naturally aspirated, seemed to have performed better in colder weather. Not talking about sub zero temperatures, but NY/FL summer seems to make the car lazy.
On the other hand though it could be just a perception, not sure…. Just like after driving the car forever in NYC traffic then taking it for long distance trip and flooring it a few times the car just seems more responsive.

The charged/compressed air in a turbo engine is very hot, compared to the intake air in an N/A engine. It relies on the cooler ambient air temp to chill it off via the intercooler(s). If the outside air is 100 degrees, the intercooler isn't as efficient in cooling off the charged/compressed = less than normal performance from a turbo engine.

BMW turbo systems adjust for temperature and altitude and will allow more boost to compensate for higher temps and altitude - thus you should 'feel' like you're getting the same power.

Are the turbo inter coolers located behind the fog light (m sport) in the channel that also probably cools the front brakes? If that's them, is it a water cooled system? If not, how do it do?

More boost at higher temps would simply mean even more heat so you still wouldn't get more power.

You're only talking about the compression of air heat, the delta of that only happens for a moment - and the job of the intercooler is to help lower the temp. You're still developing a significant amount of hp regardless of ambient air temp and altitude. It's a very well thought system with a bunch of reserve.
