Sorry guys for not posting, I haven't driven the car a lot in the last few weeks. The acceleration response has definitely been improved. You can definitely feel the horsepower and torque gains. I feel this is the best mod that you can do for under $400 because you will actually feel the improvement right away!!

My N20 tune and BT cable have just been delivered
Will install the tune this weekend and will let you know the improvements.
@Ryang, I would really appreciate it if you can still send me that picture of how you installed the module on the right side of the engine bay. How did you pull the cable throught the rubbers? I am installing tomorrow so no pressure ;-)
Thanks!

PS I must live a very shallow life, being this happy with a tune

Have installed the tune today and it took me about 20-25 mins. Although the installation was easy, reconnecting the battery was a bit harder because i closed the lid and forgot that it does not open anymore after the battery is unplugged. Keep this in mind when you are installing yourself. Results of the tune are especially noticable around 3000 rpm. You can feel that it has more torque although the increase in hp does not feel significant. I might have to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. Anyway, it is easy to install, also for a non-technical guy like me, and not expensive so an easy choice to make.

Sorry for the delayed response I have not been on much. Glad to hear you had an easy time installing the tuner minus the trunk incident. Yeah you can definitely feel the improvements around 3000. If you ordered from Burger the firmware should be up to date.

Tune is still running fine. However, you might want to strengthen the plastic part of the tune that drives the sensors. I did not properly block mine i. The engine bay, so it had room to flap about. After a couple of days, the plastic was severely damaged. I have now repaired it and covered it in two sponges to make sure this does not happen again. This is not a production flaw. It is just me not thinking this through well enough in advance. Last week i had to bring it in for servicing. I took out the tune, checked codes with the bt cable and brought it in. They checked it via diagnose equipment and i have had no remarks whatsoever.

Can you feel the tune from 3k all the way up or does it seem to stop after a bit? Also, have you noticed your gas mileage being negatively impacted at all?

It pulls much harder from 3000 rpm. As mentioned, hp is not drastically different but torque is. Was racing a 535d today and although it was quicker, the difference wasn't significant. I shifted back into 3rd and could keep up with it. Considering the price difference here in the netherlands, i am quite happy.

Installed in 20 minutes on Monday! This is a great tune for the money... you can really feel the added boost. Additionally, I've actually been getting better gas mileage. You now have more power on the lower end which sometimes negates the need to press harder on the gas. As others have said, you can really feel it 3k+. Where the car used to lose a bit of its power in this territory, it now feels much stronger.

I will be putting it up against my buddy's stock 535 at some point this weekend, will let you know how that goes!

Sounds good. Does it have different maps like the JB3?

And good luck against your mate's 535. Do let us know how it goes. Cheers!

I'm bumping this rather old thread up, as I've owned a 2013 528xi since January and am planning on some tune to the nice but a little underpowered N20 engine... My questions to you guys:

- How is your Burger Stage 1 behaving after several months?
- Any knowledge on Stage 2 for N20 ?
- Anyone heard of the German Speed-Buster product, which is even simpler to install? If so, does it deliver?

TIA,

Piotr

I have had the BMS Stage 1 for the N20 installed for about four months now in my '12 528xi. I notice no problems with it and can definitely feel the difference when comparing it to my buddy's '13 328xi without the tune. You can really feel the increase in power between 1500 and 5000 rpm while traveling below 70 mph. Once you're up above 70, that's when I really feel that the n20 is underpowered, so don't expect too much more here. However, this is to be expected from a twin scroll 4 cylinder.

It was also very easy to install. I feel like it is a no brainer for $400.

Someday ago, I have fight with Hyundai Sonata TGDI, MK6 Golf GTI stage II mapping ( dyno wheel 250hp ).

60 rolling drag Results. 2nd gear start. sport mode. no paddle shift

1st My car 528i (hi octane )
2nd Golf GTI MK6 stage 2 mapping (hi octane ) ( 1 car distance )
3rd Sonata TGDI (hi octane ) ( 3 car distance )

very good!
According to this result, My car 528i is faster than 535D.
And I think that my car is same result with G35

Bump for more experiences with the Burger stage 1 for the F10 528... is the JB4 upgrade worth the extra $150 over the stage 1?
