I guess we have enough people so performance details, pricing/discount and flashing procedure should be here now so those who are interested can place the order.

Jerry is finalizing some things on the dyno and will have dyno sheets for us by Monday. Also, I spoke with him last night and he's been very busy on the dyno, so he hasn't had a chance to return everyones messages, but he said he would by friday. With regards to pricing, it is $400 for either tune if we can get 15 people total.

Thanks for the update.
This might be a dumb question, but why have some tuners like EC, OE, and some others been able to develop tunes for the F10 but others like Dinan and Cobb have not been able to "crack the DME"? Are all non-piggyback tuners not alike? |

They are but they develop to different standards than your average tuner as far as safety and reliability of their tunes. For instance, Dinan has to make their tunes conservative enough so that the car will last through the duration of the warranty they offer. All of this takes additional time.

We had a member drop his car off yesterday and is picking it up today with a tune. I look forward to hearing what he has to say about the results.

Just emailed Jerry a few of the common questions I've been seeing on this thread.
1) Can you tune both the 535i and 550i remotely? Will you have to mail a laptop and cable to each person, or will just a cable work? – Yes, remotely for both. We will need to send a laptop to each person. 2) Will you need to reflash the car before taking it to a BMW dealer? If so, do you still reinstall tunes for free? – This is 100% up to the owner of the car. I suggest reflashing the car to stock before taking it to the dealer. Retunes will not be free and will be $125. 3) Are tunes for additional mods free? – No, $125. This is to cover our time and shipping costs on the laptop. 4) Can you tune RWD and xDrive cars? - Yes 5) Is their a programmable handheld tuner like the one you have for MB engines? - No sir 6) Can you adjust the tune for different octane levels? – Yes, of course! |

I am not thrilled about the $125 a pop retune fee. Can you ask him if this cost is the same for locals who bring their car in?

$125 total for a reflash to stock and a tune reinstall. I'd assume it would be cheaper if local bc they wouldn't have to ship their computer.

please keep us posted with the performance results. I'd love to know if the tune also gets rid of the lag and if it noticeably improves the acceleration?

I'm surprised that EC is willing to mail out their laptops for people who want to tune remotely. Seems like they're taking a risk. Perhaps it's a good sign of customer service and their wanting to accommodate people who don't want to remove/mail in ECU.

That's exactly it. They have excellent customer service, but I'm sure there's a clause that we are responsible for any damage to the laptops as well.

Yeah but they're still taking a risk with the time and hassle of claiming the loss. Plus there's always a risk of someone stealing their proprietary software.
to them for being accommodating. Can't wait to see the numbers. |

Sorry guys but we'll have to wait another few days for the dyno numbers. I dropped my car off yesterday and Jerry was supposed to tune it today. After the first dyno pull this morning the dyno was not working properly so Jerry spent the next hour trouble shooting with DynoDynamics, turns out one of the control boards was faulty. Ordered a new board on the spot but wont be here till Tuesday cause its being shipped from Australia. I'll take the car back next week. I didn't want to go forward without a working dyno so we'll have to wait a few days. Excellent guy to deal with though, I'll be back there as soon as the dyno is up and running.
