Exhaust question - mid pipe

I'm running an Eisenmann Race Quad and would like to get a more aggressive tone from the way it sounds currently.

I understand that some exhaust enhancements can actually inhibit performance when done without the use of a tune. For example, using a downpipe without a tune will cause performance to worsen.

If I run Eisenmann Race Quads and replace the mid section (mid cats and resonator delete) of the exhaust system with a straight pipe, without a tune, will performance suffer?

Anybody doing this without a tune? Would like feedback. Thanks.
