Part number for BMW Blackout OEM Performance Grills?

I've seen some pictures of the mods starting to come in and they look great. I'm interested in the OEM Performance Grills... It think they are the shadowline ones. The parts shop at my dealer insists they don't exist yet. So does anyone have a part number for the shadowline grills or know where to get them?

UPDATE: Part numbers are:
Left: 51 71 2 165 539
Right: 51 71 2 165 528

Available on accessories.bmwusa.com

More pics here.

The black kidney grill is still not showing up on the BMW website...there is a drop down when you select it but the 2011 5 is not listed.

I just called the parts department where I bought my car and they said the grill is not even in there system...he is getting the numbers and is going to call me back with them. I will post the part numbers for the grills when I get them!

Lacster's car already has them:

So the parts are already available. Check out the first thread, Lacster puts where he got the blackout grills from.

Definitely looks great!

Weird. Try asking Lacster (http://f10.5post.com/forums/private....=newpm&u=30330).

Maybe he's got some info on this or can help you source the OEM performance grills.

Just making sure no one tries to order these for the F10. These are the part numbers for the E60 grills. I checked the grills with these part numbers out at my dealer today and they will not fit the F10. Looks like we have to wait until fall for the official shadowline grills.

I was called yesterday and told my grills were in but upon seeing your post today, that my part #'s are for the E60, I called in to verify. Low and behold, they ordered the wrong grills! I looked at the BMWUSA.COM site and in fact the part #'s according to BMW are:
Left: 51 71 2 165 539
Right: 51 71 2 165 528

To say the least, the parts department at my dealer is going to make some calls and get back to me.

I don't know how many times I told them it was a 2011 535 (F10). They even said at the time I ordered that the part #'s weren't in the system yet and they had to call to get them!

Sorry for posting the wrong #s!

The links on the BMW USA site can be confusing, if you go to:

http://accessories.bmwusa.com/Perfor...Selection.aspx

and then select the vehicle you are interested in you will more often than not find what is available.

I just ordered the grills using those last part numbers listed by SCPACKAGING. The dealer parts guy I'm dealing with said he confirmed those from a recent catalog. Don't have them yet, but hopefully will soon.

After my last post and conversation with my dealer, they called me back and confirmed; yes the grills are available and they will be in on Friday.

I posted another thread in the DIY section re: installation - does anyone reading this know how to self-install these grills? I would like to do it myself but I'm not sure I feel comfortable tearing apart my engine compartment trying to do it without any input/direction from someone that knows what they are doing!

Looking at the E60 grills, it looks like getting the new ones in will be easy. They just snap in. Not sure how to get the old ones out though without just yanking really hard. I'm sure when we see the new ones, it'll give an idea about how to get the old ones out.

Update

Looks like the grilles are now on the BMW USA website. My question is where to get painted reflectors?

Update! I have the grills now. They came into my dealer today, so it is possible to get them now. Next, I just need to figure out how to get the old ones out. The parts guy recommended punching the existing one inward to knock their clips loose. But that doesn't seem any better to me than just yanking. Maybe I'll try to get a tool to pop the clips. But it'll have to be soft to avoid marring the paint. Hmmm....

on the e60's..removing the grills involved partially loosening the front bumper to get behind the grills and pops the tabs...

here's a good DIY for the e60: http://raceprecision.com/forums/view...65398bdff52cf3

maybe it's similar to this for the f10, might be worth a few minutes to check out...good luck

RE: painted euro reflectors, just pop them out and have a local body shop paint them, most likely cheaper and faster than buying a new set....

Installation Success!

I got the mew grills installed tonight. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I ended up using a thin plastic "taping knife" I found at the Home Depot. Essentially a thin, plastic spatula. I pushed the plastic blade between the grill and the edges on the bumper and worked the blade back and forth to try and wedge the grill out. It was pretty scary, but I eventually got it to work.

The above DIY may work by loosening the bumper from the top. But the problem is that the F10 hood line is much higher up than the E60. Even if you were to loosen the front bumper, I'm not sure you could get behind the grills because the radiator would still be in the way coming from the top. You may have no choice other than to wedge the grills out like I did.

There is a risk you can break the parts on the bumper where the grills clip in, so try to be gentle when you work the old grills out.

Next up for my car: window tint!
