Junkman Present's, "Project Liberty"

This video is to announce the project that I will be working on this summer. "Project Liberty" as I have named it, will consist of a complete paint correction of my 2004 Jeep Liberty. I am not going for perfection as I do on my Corvette because this is nothing more than a daily driver. The thing that I want to accomplish here is just to add value to the car by making it look newer than it actually is. After all, it isn't my rusty, 500Hp El Camino so it needs to at least look presentable. That V6 engine ain't gonna outrun anything! Lol!

Thanks Junkman for another great video. Interestingly enough (at least from my perspective) eShine is my go-to supplier as well. I discovered them about four years ago. They do have a great selection of products too. Cheers.

Thanks again Junkman. This is a good follow-up to your other recent video on removing sticky gunk. As you briefly mentioned the door handle in this video, I'm curious if you are going to tackle cleaning / restoring plastic trim like the door handles in your series of Project Liberty videos. I've tried one product which seems to work well, but I'd certainly appreciate your thoughts.

Here's the problem. If your car lives outside, you're wasting your time. The elements outside will destroy anything that you try to do to restore any kind of trim, just as it has done before. If your car is garaged and it still gets destroyed, then YOU are the problem and I would have to know what you are doing to create that issue because my Corvette is garaged and after 13 years, I am not seeing that issue one bit. So everyone's situation is going to be different. Short of replacing the trim and changing the car's situation, there's not much you can do short of using a product like Optibond Tire Gel to make it "appear" to look new again.

I would never use that stuff inside the car though. I don't like shiny interior unless it's paint.

This is just a quick video to show you how your paint should look after compounding it. I still need to polish it out with the Perfecting Cream (pinky), but as you can see, THE SHINE is built with your compound and polish, NOT WAX. Don't believe the hype! Wax is a PROTECTANT. Your shine is complete WAY before you add your wax.

Have you tried Solution Finish? It'a a dye not a dressing. So far it's the best I've used.

Thanks. I'll check into that. I'm currently using Black Wow, which is a silicon based product that seems to last about 1 year +/-. Depending on the surface being treated, the idea of dying something sounds attractive too.

Cheers.
