My new Alpina D5 2015
Hi guys,

That's a beautiful F11.
I thought the engine spec was 350PS and 700Nm, but the screen says 320kw and 720Nm?

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I can tell you that there is a huge difference in the ride compared to my old 535i. The Alpina suspension is sooooo much better then the M suspension in the old car. May the LSD also affects this.
Yesterday we took my Z4 35is from maintenance at the dealer and it seems they are equal compared to power. The Alpina is more agile then the Z4, not surprising, the Z4 should be called ZLK if you ask me, because of the ride. Quote:
The car has 20" Winter tyres currently, will change to a second set 20" with Michelin PSS after the Winter. The paint is "Sophistograu" in German, If I am right it is "Singapore Gray II" in the US. Perfect color for the car, it seems it works better with darker colors... Yes, cleaning the RIMs will be a pain, but I will treat it with a sealant (Autobrill), then cleaning is no issue any more...same for the paint. Thanks to all again. I keep you updated with new pictures after the paint job... |

Sophistograu is called Dark Graphite in the US, and it's not the same as Singapore Grey II, which is a M5 color.

Nice car.
Doubted really long for an Alpina D5 but don't like the design so went for an M-sport 535d. Still need to do the tuning and fit a LSD (Drexler). I had a LSD also on my previous F10 535i M/6 which really tranfers the car in a proper handling machine.

As promised, here some new pictures after the paint Job has been done.
My friend Richard sealed the car with Autobrill (www.autobrill.ch). Also he made some nice pictures which I want to share. As usual, the result is great. See for yourself: All in all the car is really great. It was the first longer trip yesterday and the Autobahn is the natural habitat of that car. It is so fast without any effort, very nice. Nice. I've always liked the look of the Alpina rims but freak out at the time it would take to clean them (twice as many spokes)
