Hi All,

Well finally past the 2500 miles mark on my 2016 550xDrive M purchased in early December...just love it..pictures been posted but its simple stock, Jet Black. I especially love the Luxury Seat Option with the air circulating and the Ceramic Dial Option provides a very nice feel to those controls.

So the question is what exactly are those Sport Displays trying to say. I did a rolling start to max power on a nice long straight road and was able to rather quickly hit max HP which seems to be 480HP as shown on the display. The needle for that display came just a hair shy of 480HP.

Now I was told and have read the 2016 is rated at 445HP/5500RPM .. so is the 480ish - 445HP the underrating I've read about too?

My brother just picked up the exact same car on Thursday... There is something magical about the jet black...

I just told him about your 480 hp indication... no doubt he will test your theory as soon as he can find some clean dry roads.

Fantastic...this is my 3rd 5 Series, previous 2 having been based on the E39 (2000my 528 & 2003my 540 M)..Never thought I could enjoy driving as I did the 540 but this 2016my 550 xDrive M is really special. The pull is virtually nonstop and I have yet to get close to max speed.

And wow, the deals they were writing as the G30s started to breakout in shows and showrooms now.

It will be interesting to find out if the Sport Display is simply based on tabulated results against something like RPMs, or actually a sensor based reading from someplace along the drive train.
