Opinions on Alcantara Headlining

Hi All

I'm currently speccing hopefully my new F11 at the moment and am thinking of getting the Alcantara Headlining and just wondered if any of you guys have it and how you find it.

If you guys have and pics of Alcantara headlining in an 5 series they would be gratefully received.

Cheers in advance

yes get it. it looks much better than the standard material. I think if you go for individual there are some other colours available otherwise it will ne the anthracite one. it feels like good quality as well.
haven't got a picture to hand but if you search for 530d msport review 1 year on in this forum you will find my review of my car which in cludes the anthracite alcanyata headlining.
note it also includes visors and a b and c pillars and parcel shelf.

Have it in my E39 M5 and love it. Whenever I spend a long time in wifes 335i MSport I miss seeing the alcantara.
I'd go for it! Wish it were an option in the US without doing super expensive options (Individual I think?)

I've got it in my f10, and really like it. You can find pics in my thread.

Yes, I have it in my f02.

It is stunning in that it adds an extra dimension of depth in what would otherwise be a boring 2 dimensional surface.

Also, the texture reminds me of a shag rug that you might find in the 70's Scooby Doo van.

I'm going to warn you though, if you're OCD like me you should stick with the regular cloth headliner. I've got 2 cars with alcantara and I'd gladly trade. They always look messy and marked to me unless they are "groomed and preened" and really, who wants to groom their headliner?! It doesn't help that my friends and family know I'm a little (lot) insane and play with me by putting hand prints and writing things with their fingertips to drive me crazy.

Great picture. Had this in my M6 and it was glorious. Absolutely love the attention to detail how it covers all the way down through the parcel shelf.

My F10 has the M sport anthracite cloth textured headliner and it's nice but not AS nice as the alcantara Not sure how much I'd be willing to pay to upgrade it while ordering though.. probably not more than a few hundred bucks. I won't buy another car without a black headliner though so if I was forced to pay for it I would.

+1

How much is this option in the UK Steveo535?

In Sweden it's around £1.300, which for me is too much since M Sport already has the anthracite headliner.

I agree, never quite understood the desire for this material myself.
Especially on areas where daily wear and tear shows, who wants to "groom" these constantly?

Matter of preference/taste I suppose.

Absolutely! One man's dream is another man's nightmare. I was just giving a flip side just in case he's a little OCD like me.
