Ouch! Good thing you're okay. Dash cam? Good thing you had that video to show the cop I wonder how much the damage will be?

No kidding, certainly makes a good case for getting a dash cam... I'm just concerned about the other things of questionable legality it might record me doing
Damage doesn't look that bad all considering, watching the video I would have expected worse. I just fixed the front end of my car with much more damaged, check out my thread if you want to see whats under the skin! I see a good 4-5k in damage if its done at full screw the insurance company (and us by association) body shop retail rates. |

Damn that sucks!!
Good thing you had your dash cam to put that ass clown in his place. Good luck with the repairs and hope it turns out as good as new.

Sorry about the accident, but things happen, important thing everybody's fine, damage isn't so bad. I was thinking exactly the same thing, not that I ever do any "questionable legality" type of thing of course . Still, easy to have a video like this where your speed shows as 5 over the limit. |

This is the main reason why i got a dash cam. In nyc the cabs are constantly turning into your lanes and this guy clearly did not even look to his left before turning.First question he asked was where did i come from? and for the camera recording everything. theres always the edit button. the full recording had 1 minute video with me cursing after the accident.

aaaaaaaaaaand another example of why turn signals are important. Perhaps you could have stopped in time if he had used it. Also a good example of dash cam importance, too.

Who the f makes a left turn from the most outside lane knowing there's a possibility someone could be next to him no common sense! I see that $hit here in Ohio all the time! Funny thing is when I moved from San Diego to Ohio I had to take the driver's behind the wheel test again even tho I've been driving 20+ years. That test was a joke, so basic and it took literally 5 min! Talk about getting your license from a Cracker Jack Box

Estimates like that are why insurance rates are so high, because bodyshops are getting rich fleecing insurance companies! Look how bad my car was: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1264793 It cost me $4500 to put the front end back together, including paintwork. Without my hookups I figure it would have been closer to 8k, but still... 14k??? LOL. The original insurance estimate to repair the front end on my car was $23,500. I fixed it for basically 20% of that. |
