My 2011 BMW 550ix "M5 conversion"

Hi!
This will be my build thread for my 2011 BMW 550ix that I just bought from Germany. I live in Norway so Xdrive is an important option

My nick is bmwZ, that because I`ve owned 3 BMW Z4 before. I have allways been modding my cars, so here`s some pics showing how they turned out:

My first 2.2 with some light mods

My second 2.2 with complete Z4M body, Performance seats and ESS Supercharged+++++++

My third 35i with 35is body retrofitted++++

So now it's my 550ix that will get some mods, the car has lot of options, but not M package. I bought it that way since it was cheaper and I will give it a M5 body

So this is my plans:
-M5 body using original parts
-Muffler delete with Porsche tips
-M5 PF spoiler
-M5 LCI grille
-M5 Steering wheel
-20" summer wheels
-19" Winter wheels
-Eibach Pro springs
-M footrest
-Sport automatic retrofit with paddles
-Wrap exterior window trim
-Paint interior trim
-A lot more

Pics of my car:

Beautiful cars! All of them. I think you could have gotten the M-Pack though, and you'd already have a nice steering wheel with paddles, and you could have sold the bumpers for a very good amount of money when you swapped them for the M5 bumpers.

Interesting project!

Curious about the "Porsche tips" you are going to use. Which Porsche model are they from?

Beautiful cars your have owned. Good luck on your next project. I am running Porsche tips as well. I have the M Performance mufflers now, but this pic was when I had the tips mounted on the stock mufflers.

Thanks
That is true, but I got a good deal on this one. Since we have 25% VAT in Norway, it was important to get the price as low as possible. So a non M sport was a lot cheaper. I bought this one in Germany at a $40000 price tag. But with Norwegian VAT and Taxes I payed $130000 New one is $250000

Holy shit. $130k? Just move to the US! You can get an M5 for that kind of money.

Since all the parts are barcoded, I assume they're all OEM parts? It must of cost you a fortune!

New mod in progress

Have taken all my interior trim apart today. I don`t like the wood look. So I will paint them in a nice Mercedes Obsidian black color.

First step, unmount all the trim. This is quite easy and done in 1 hour.

Then I had to separate the wood and aluminum parts. This was done by grinding som plasric pops behind the trim away.

It looks like this when taken apart

Then I had the silver push parts that have to come off

A little grining from behind and I got them off

Finally all parts is ready for the paintshop
