My Carbon Black 535d M-sport diesel beast!
My friends,
I picked up my F10 yesterday. I ordered the car 21st of july so I had to wait a few months. Today, I took it for a nice little trip across the border (500 km) and I did some quick cornering and about 180-190 km/h on the Autobahn. Although I was a bit careful with the brand new engine (low revs, never full throttle), my first impression of the car is very clear: This car is magnificent and way, way better than both my e92s (330d & 335d). Handling and steering, punch of the diesel engine is like a dream. Obviously I read some negative magazine reviews and complaints about the steering, but I think I hit the right configuration: - Carbon Black 535d - 8 speed sport auto - M sport package without the M sport suspension - Adaptive drive - Integral active steering; - 19” M sport wheels (got the wintertyres already: Pirelli Runflats) - Schnitzer lowering set (30 mm drop, IMO essential for the looks and a more sporty ride) I will get back later to you guys with my thoughts on the ride. For now, here are some pix I took today: Cheers, E.

Congrats! / Gefeliciteerd!
The combination of M-sport, the extra 20 mm lowering (as compared to the nomal m-sport lowering), and these wheels makes this the most sporty F10 I've seen so far!! I see that after the 2nd of september when you wrote not to go for IAS you changed your mind. I think you will much appreciate that change. What made you change your mind? I also see that you found the best possible answer to your original question in your first post about AD and lowering Quote:
You asked me how the active cruise is in het typisch Nederlandse spitsverkeer: it's fantastic! Hope you also have that option as well as headup display. Vriendelijke groet, en heel veel rijplezier, Cees

She's beautiful! Nothing as stunning as a clean black car.

I think the car looks better without the M rear spoiler, but that's just me.

Carbon black + sealant + sunshine = bliss
I took Jon D's advice (thanks again) and bought the Werkstatt acrylic jet through the great website of www.Polishedbliss.co.uk
The weather was good today, so I applied one coat of sealant....then took some more pix just before sunset. Carbon black is amazing. I hope I can keep the paint this good. But winter is coming and there are a lot of roadworks in Holland.

They do, but the BMW dealership does the job. So, it is actually a mod.

The dealer here in Hong Kong could also do the mod. for us. But apart from the installation charge, the dealer charge us 85% tax for the new springs. Unless we wait half year for the "get out of jail period" (then the springs will be consider used part). We are not so lucky here.

Congrats on your car - looks great!! Can you confirm if the AC Schnitzer springs are only available for the front thus obviously only lower the front giving more rake? I guess this would give better steering response? Given that Adaptive Drive alreadys lowers car by 10mm, does these springs lower front another 20mm thus a total of 30mm over standard SE suspension? From what I understand M Sport suspension is the same 10mm drop as Adaptive Drive. David Last edited by dgmc; 11-08-2010 at 07:28 AM.. Reason: typo |

Hi EdwinD,
I can just join rest of the guys saying that your car looks brilliant. My question is:did you order Schnitzer springs yourself or via your dealer? How much did it cost (including change)? Does warranty cover new springs? Thanks and enjoy your car! |
