Iphone Google Maps Navigation directions through car speakers...

I have a 2013 with the newer navigation plus iPhone 5. I have the phone BT'ed to the car and this past weekend found out that i could use the google maps app directions and it would play over the cars speakers. The only funky thing is that whenever the directions comes through the nav screen appears as if I am getting an incoming phone call which is strange. Is this how it is suppose to work? It would be awesome to have the navigation screen show the map so i can get both visual and audio directions by using the google maps app

Nice!

The same thing happens when using Google Now on a paired Android phone.
The car brings up the call screen when capturing what you are saying/ using the mics in the car.

Tested this with a OEM Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 and HTC One X S720E, both running 4.2.1.

Waiting to see what Apple comes out with on June 10.
It's about time they fixed their "MAP profile" in iOS to we can get emails working etc.

The same thing happens with my 2012 535i. Comes in as an incoming call vs. projecting the map on the screen.

Doesn't look like BMW wants to let Apple take over the screen in tis cars...
