*Secret F10 Twin Turbo DinanMotor*

I was having some work done to my car and this motor was delivered and I was told it's a "1 of 1 Skunk Works Dinan Project" Dinan F10 twin turbo V8 project. Estimated 900+ hp to the wheels!
This is a "if you have to ask the price you can't afford it" I was told...

The stock n63 engine is around $39k so since this is an eleged 900hp dinan engine, its probably 15,000,000,000 dollars plus 5k to install and another 25k for their tune. Dont forget 45k for a new tranny and rear end.....

No idea, again I was in the shop when this was delivered and I was told it's going in the F10 M5 that's under the car cover. According to them, Steve himself was coming in to tune this beast.
Basically it's going to be the first 1,000hp M5 on race fuel but you never heard it from me....

Steve does not work for Dinan any longer

Would be cool if Dinan can give us more info about this "secret" engine

Give it time and I'm sure you will hear plenty. There's a reason I was told to NOT post anything on the M5 forum but Steve (and crew) will be tuning that motor but when I get back from my travels I'll try and say more. I was told that this was the first and only F10 M5 "big turbo" engine Dinan ever did.
The fact it was delivered when I was there, how could I not resist leaking a few pictures and what little I know.
I do spend a bit of coin at that shop and I will take more pictures than a Russian spy when I get back!

Nothing really to say. This isn't a Dinan motor but a SD AutoTech motor (Steve Dinan's service centers and race shop). There are a few of these built motors around though from what I have heard (or at least a couple in the pipeline). Before Steve left Dinan Corp for Ganassi we did the first built motor on our shop F10 M5 but the R&R and everything that needed to be done to the thing to make it a viable/reliable solution meant the cost was astronomical and not something you could really sell to the retail public save for those that would want to do it regardless of cost. For that reason it never made it to market--- simply was no money in it. As a race shop though SD AutoTech is doing some of these custom motors and from what I hear they have recreated the magic a few times for a handful of different adventuring enthusiasts (not for race cars per se but I am sure they find some time at the track).

As for our shop car (always the next question), we sold it about 2 years ago to a local guy with the built system in it and its still running strong the last time I ran into him. Of course that one wasn't a 1000 HP monster or anything. I think we capped that one out at just shy of 800 HP if memory serves.

Makes sense, thank you

He has a lot of info including pricing.
