F10/F11 Drivers armrest removal

Hi, New to the forum and BMW ownership. Have a 2012 F11 520D wagon (estate), looked through the DIY section, couldn't find anything. Hoping someone can point me in the correct direction.

I'm replacing the drivers arm rest which goes around the front door speaker and well. Can't see any guides, nor can i work out how to, or even if its possible to remove the plastic pieces that seem to hold it into the door card.

Does anyone have any pointers on what to do?

Circled in red are the pieces that need to come off to give access to the new trim piece.

If this isn't clear, please request more information.....this is my post on the other forum...and I changed out armrests and upper leather panel on my vehicle on all 4 doors....multiple times...
