Satellite (Google Earth ?) maps on navigation ?
Hi,
I just saw this photo reading the F10/F11 interior thread : The nav system shows some kind of satellite maps (Google Earth service ?) and not just 3D maps. Question 1 : Does anybody know if a subscription to BMW ConnectedDrive services (Online + Assist) is needed to have the GPS nav system show thoses sat maps ? Or would thoses options be enough for it : - Professional navigation system (609) - Bluetooth (644) - USB Connection (6FL) - BMW TeleServices (6AB) - Smartphones extended services connection (6NF) - Combox (6VC) - Internet (614) - Apps (6NR) Question 2 : Has anybody ever subscribed a BMW ConnectDrive contract "aftermarket" ? I'm wondering if I'll be able to do so because the 633 (Bluetooth with ConnectDrive) option was not available in the country I build / bought the car from. VodkaOne. |

Those satellite images are already on the hard drive with the professional NAV, however they only are visible from a specific map scale. If the car is configured to the metric system, they're available with 2km and higher. In the 25m to 1km range, you're stuck with the "regular" map display.

I'm not sure, but last time I checked that service was offered in the UK only.
