You are correct, thanks for the clarification. Still, you think it would be easier to extract more horsepower from forced induction system.

Yes, I agree. The N55 should be capable of much more.

Not the same engine right? Doesn't yours have a 2.0L Turbo and the other person has a 3.0L Turbo?

Should be fun to see if there is any noticeable difference from stock. Gotta love a return policy.

I'd say AFE Scorcher is going to give the cleanest balance for anyone.
Especially not cause any drivetrain malfunction or errors. I think you will enjoy it especially it provides the gains from 0 all the way through, definitely drive the car at least 100miles during your testing period my friend that had JB3 on his X3 35i last year got drivetrain malfunction, tried to return it and nope denied. So he sold it on eBay and dealt with his stock 35i which is still amazing.

There's a guy on my street who just got a 2015 28i M-Sport so i was talking to him about it and told him to get the AFE Scorcher and just happens to be I came home to order the RaceChip Ultimate after reading that X5 review on the diesel folks and of course Opasha. (especially great discount) from RacingPowerSports

I have bmw 525xd (F10; 2012). Bought Racechip Pro2 in 2013. Installed with factory presets. Have not performed any dinos, but some increase in power and torque was noticeable. However, very soon I stumbled upon this problem. On gas pedal fully or almost fully down, the gear shifts to lower, revs go up like crazy, the power is gone, the error message says smth like this ***8222;cannot deliver full power, drive moderately", etc. After restarting the engine works without error until next pedal step down. Uninstalled Racechip Pro 2, the problems are gone.

My bottom line. I'm not going to play with this **** ever again (trying different settings etc.). Naming these devices as specifically designed for your car is a giant hoax on the part of RaceChip, IMO. I'm sure they are sending the same device to everyone and then have customers experiment on their own with different settings on the two dials. Well, this is not for me. I had remaps on my two previous cars, both worked flawlessly. The reason I bought the racechip for my current car is that it was still on factory warranty. Never again!

Wherever you ordered from, you got the wrong harness or installed incorrectly (I have a feeling you're a smart guy, so it's the wrong harness). I got the wrong harness as did many others for our engines, and this puts the car staight into Drivetrain Malfunction (low power mode, drive moderately).

Don't knock something until it's 100% installed correctly. I learned this the hard way when my mechanic didn't use the right harness (one is too long where the factory sensor connects to the racechip adapter harness) and common sense tells you, the connection is never being made because it's too long. So, I had to take it all apart and installed it myself and figured out the harness differences.

My car is only two ticks up from factory settings (S1=1, S2=B) by changing S2=D and I'm at 522hp/564tq. It is literally one of the fastest vehicles I've ever driven in my life now. The chip has transformed it into a complete monster with no throttle lag in any mode. It's a very clean/smooth power increase as well without any hiccups/struggling.

Has anyone put the race chip ultimate on a 550i? I'm curious to find out if it added what they claim.

I have sold a few of them to 550/650 guys. Nothing but a good feedback.
I am going to install one on my 650GC today or tomorrow to compare with the BMS Stage 1.

Nice. I have yet to see any kind of dyno other than the manufacturer ones. It would be cool if you dyno! I to was curious about the other piggy backs BUT all the ones that I have seen pump out as much power as the BMS Stage 1 or Less!

Please post you'r results, I'm very interested. Like the user above me ^^^^^ said a dyno comparison would be greatly appreciated and would put the suspicions about race chip to rest.

Got the RaceChip installed yesterday.
What a difference.
I know, I still owe you guys a dyno sheet.

Thanks for the update, are you gonna do a baseline dyno run and then a race chip dyno run?

Awesome! Can't wait for the results! If this thing can pump out close to Stage 2 numbers safely (no codes or blown MAF) then consider it sold!
