2014 550i iDrive controller issues!!!

I got in my car one day and tried to put an address into the nav and the knob was really hard to turn both ways.
I turned it with force a few times and it got loose and once again tightened up.
I took it into service and the lady at service said she had to order a new touch controller knob from Germany and it would take two weeks.

She finally called today after 3 weeks saying that the part is in and they installed it. Works fine now, but is anyone else having this issue?
