Widest 18" square wheels for F10 535i M-Sport??
Hi all. I'm looking for a spare set of wheels and tires for track days and autocross. My current wheels are the stock BMW style 351M M-Sport 19x8.5" ET33 front (245/40/19), and 19x9.0" ET44 rear (275/35/19), running the OE Michelin Primacy run-flats on my 2011 535i M-Sport.
I want to go with a square setup to eliminate understeer/more balanced handling, and allow for tire rotation. I would also prefer 18" wheels as I've read that's an ideal size for track/autocross, and the tires are less expensive. Can anyone recommend a good wheel and tire fitment option in 18" to go as wide as possible, either 9.0" or preferably 9.5" all around in my car? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

I asked this question previously here: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1029445 Not sure if that answer works, or not. You will definitely be going down a far different path than anyone else on this board.
I will definitely be interested in your experience if you actually do any auto-x or trackday. I hung onto my e46 330i when I bought this car, as it seems completely unsuited to anything sporty in comparison to an e46. But love the one you are with, I say. I am happy with the Apex Racing ARC-8s I have on my e46. They are lighter than OEM, look nice, don't break the bank, etc. You could probably go as small as 17' wheels, as I have seen 528s on 17s. I typically run r-compound tires, but the hotness for the street tire auto-x classes a couple years ago was the Dunlop Star Spec. I had a set but have no basis for comparison to anything else.
