"Traction" indicator instead of "Sport+"?

Shoot me if I'm asking a dumb question, but the other day I used Sport+ (which I rarely do) and next to the gear indicator, I got a "Traction" message instead of a "Sport+" word. Since I never use it, I kind of shrugged it off figuring that's what it was supposed to say. Then I noticed the next time it simply read "Sport+".

What the heck does "Traction" mean, and why did it come on?

I think that means DTC. If you select sport+ the dsc changes into dtc mode for more 'fun'

I figured it out this morning on the way to work... but I'm still confused about a few things.

When you go into Sport+, is says "Dynamic Traction Control Activated". You also get a yellow Traction Control defeat dummy light. Then, if you hit the traction control button by the gear selector, you get the "Traction" word replacing "Sport+".

I'm a smart guy and that's all very confusing, errrr German, to me.

The traction button allows you to take it off no matter what mode you are in.

So am I to understand that Sport+ defeats the regular traction control but enables dynamic control? Is that not normally on??

Garage List
That's the difference between Sport and Sport+. It changes the traction control settings.

Sport+ does activate Dynamic Traction Control. Gives you a bit more freedom for wheel slippage without intervention. Hence the icon.

Pushing DTC button 'briefly' does the same, activates DTC.
