keep in mind that LOCATION matters A LOT! I live in NY and premiums are higher, but if I lived in lets say PA my premium would be 1/2. Geico has me at $95 a month (1140/yr) for 550. and 90 a month (1080/yr) for other vehicle. I quoted myself my friends house in Allentown, PA and my premium dropped to 708/yr ($59 month) for 550. of course these prices are with a clean record and also driver defensive course which takes 10% off comprehensive and collison coverage. LOCATION MATTERS. so NY, LA, Boston, and other heavy populated areas will have higher premiums.

It helps with most insurance carriers on the cost of auto insurance if you have your home owners (assuming you own one) or renters policy, boat, etc. with one carrier. You should also be getting a decrease in premium for certain safety features and theft prevention features on the car. At least here in the US. Make sure your agent is pursuing all cost reductions available to you.

I am with State Farm. I have four vehicles and a home insured. I pay $675/year. I am older, no faults or violations. Interesting point, I pay more per year for my GLK and my old trusted Z4, weird.
