535i Catless Downpipe Rasp - Vibrant Resonators?

Installed my VRSF 3.5" catless downpipe this weekend and WOW, it sounds extremely mean and the turbo spool/noise is intoxicating.

That being said, there is a fair bit of rasp when cruising in D and when going WOT. I'm starting to think it's a bit much for a luxury sedan, and I don't want that type of negative attention.

My current setup is:
VRSF Downpipe
Resonator Delete w/ X Pipe
M5 Mufflers (valves closed)

Should I put the stock resonator back in? Should I instead go with Vibrant 1790 (2.25 inlet/outlet, 12in length) resonators instead of the stock?

https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-1790-.../dp/B001804TQC

Any input is greatly appreciated! Videos below, cause I know it will be asked for.

Update: went ahead and ordered two Vibrant 1790 Bottle Style resonators. I'll probably throw them on this weekend, will update the thread when I do.

Do you have a sound clip of your catted ones?

I have been thinking in a near future getting an AR catless dp but the one that comes with a small resonator (which I think is Vibrant too) to tame rasp associated with dp's. Im also considering if the sound is too much get some Vibrant resonators like the one you mentioned. Let us know how it went and post a video of it. Thanks

I don't think the AR catless DP has a resonator. I think the section you're talking about is the flex piece to reduce stress on the exhaust and turbo components.

That being said, I will definitely report my findings. Fingers crossed, I've heard good things about vibrant resonators.

For our cars AR has 3 dp options (catlless, catted, or catless with resonator) you can check it at x-ph.com/5series website.

I have also heard positive feedbacks on Vibrant resonators. Good luck!

Might just have to do the same work, like the way it sounds very mean for a turbo 6...I'm just waiting for an exhaust

It sounds great, but there's rasp in person that the camera can't capture

Agreed, the resonators should remove the rasp and not much of the tone or overall volume. But we'll see

Pleased to report the vibrant resonators are in and the rasp is completely gone. The exhaust is toned down a bit volume wise, about 20-30%.

It's absolutely perfect now. Not obnoxious, no drone, sounds very sporty, tuned, and still have burbles and a little crack/pop to it. Very satisfied.

The vibrant 1790 resonators in place of my OEM resonators did the trick!

I have a muffler delete and VRSF downpipe, It sounds good out side the car but inside it drones too much and is a little loud. Looking to add Vibrant 1790 where the mufflers used to be? Good idea or no?

It will definitely help with the volume but as for drone, you would be better off doing J Pipes/quarter length resonators/helmholtz resonators. All the same thing, just different names. Look it up.

SWEET! any reasons why the OEM resonators didn't do the trick vs having to buy the Vibrant resonators?
