Oil in Crankcase vent hose on N63

My Crankcase vent hose cracked on the 5-8 side and I noticed a fair amount of oil in that hose, as well as in the turbo because it drains into the intakes for the turbo. That bank also has a lot more carbon buildup (see attached picture).

Where is that oil coming from? I know I will probably need the valve stems done at some point, but is there another problem? Could the oil separator in the crankcase be clogged?

I hear oil separator is a common failure on the N63 after 60k..

So I am replacing all my crankcase vent hoses under BMW's extended warranty. All I have to do is send in the receipts. And I think that oil is very bad... It can cause a tar buildup in the exhaust and probably on the valve seals. I'm also pondering an oil catch can (the LCI has one) but I'm going to try the new hoses first.

The oil separator is a pain to get to, because it requires taking the injectors out and that requires lots of special tools.

The CCV system sucks in general...we all need to start looking into catch cans.

I kept my old CCV gear which will at least give an interface to the air intakes. What we need is something that will interface with the existing CCV.

I have two things I'm pondering:
1) Do we need to catch cans or will one do? If just one, how do we do the one-way valves?
2) I assume that the catch can would go after the big one-way valve that attaches to the air intakes.

I'm going to see if I still get oil once I replace the CCV tubes this week.

I think I can design and 3d print the connectors from the CCV tubes if necessary.
