White Smoke n63 (Video)

Getting some white smoke from my tailpipes upon startup. Dealer recently inspected car and said there was an oil leak from the "right rear of the engine". Thinking maybe oil gasket or valve seals ?

Sounds like that $6000 repair typical on the n63.

BMW has had issue with valve stem seals way before the N63. There are many independent shops even some dealers that have acquired the AGA Tool Kit and can change valve stem seals for a lot less than $6000. I got quoted $2200 to do mine when they go out (I have 102,000 miles on my N63 btw). If you go to the dealer to have this done out of warranty, then you're asking to get ripped off. Unless, your dealer price matches like mine does. So if I get a quote from an independent shop, BMW will do the same repair for the same price.

This is the primary reason I got the extended warranty on mine. Has the car had the CCP done already?

Side note...Saint Charles, MD?

When I got my CCP done last year, he valve seals were not a part of it. Had to bargain and show evidence of oil consumption, but got it approved under CPO power train warranty. Kudos to my BMW SA!

When I bought the car I asked my SA about this and was reassured its covered under my third party warranty.
