N55 Hp and Tq Specs
Ok so I know this has been discussed before, but I was looking at the Specs of the Jaguar XF. With the 3.0 Supercharged V6 it has posted time of 5.7 0-60, same as the 535i with the same ZF transmission (haven't checked the gear ratios) and roughly the same weight. Now the XF is advertised having 340 hp and 332 Ft-lbs Tq. So is it safe to assume that the 535i has roughly 340ish HP and 332ish Ft-lbs Tq? Just wondering

You can't draw any conclusions about peak torque or peak power whatsoever from a limited comparison of acceleration. Torque curve, gearing, aero, traction off the line are all influential.

However on most of the Youtube acceleration vids posted of the F10 535i it seems like the 0-60mph time is more in the neighbourhood of 6,1-6,4sec. Just 0,2-0,4sec faster than the 528i/530i N53 (6-cyl).
Comparing Youtube videos of the 535i with the 528i (3l N53) from 0-200km/h shows that both use around 24,5sec Strangely the 535i doesn't seem to be any quicker than the (european) 528i/530i with the N53 engine... The 528i N20 (4-cyl) takes around 32,8sec from 0-200km/h. Around 8sec more than the 6cyl 528i, even though it's just as quick to 100km/h... Last edited by Boss330; 02-17-2013 at 02:53 PM.. |

But, I like the characteristics of my N53 3l engined F10 And the Remus quad exhaust really makes the engine sing beautifully, both inside and outside |
