Advice on winters for 2012 535xi with M
HI,
I have a 2012 535 with x-drive and the M package, tire rack says that i use either: 18" Recommended: 225/50-18 18" Alternate: 245/45-18 for the tire size. what would be preferable? I was also thinking of these rims: OZ DAVID: Front and Rear Size: 18x8 Offset: 29mm Backspacing: 5.66" Bolt Pattern: 5-120 Rec. Tire Size: 225/50-18 Weight: 25.9lbs. Finish: Machined w/Matte Graphite Acct Construction: 1pc. Low Pressure Cast/Shot Peened AM i ok with either tire and this rim? thanks, andreas |

I'd go with 245/45/18 for sure.

I run the Nokian Hakka R 245/45/18 on M350 wheels. And they are really good and I can recommend this setup.

For what its worth the BMW Canada website only uses 245/45 R18 Dunlop SP Winter Sport for its F10 Winter Tire Package.

Check your local country BMW Website or ask your friendly dealership for complete 18" winter wheel packages. If available, they're usually a great deal compared to the prices for separate rims and tires.
The Dunlop Winter Sport 3D in 254/45R18 are great on that car also on dry roads, I never had such a good winter tire on any car before.

Considering what I read about driving in the winter here on the forum, I as a few other have said before me recommend trying to get the wheels we use here in scandinavia if you are to drive in a lot of snow.
We are either superior drivers or have superior tires. I'm going with the last one. |

I'm running on non runflat on winter Nokian Hakka R 245/18 and M 350 rims. Non-ruflats is much more comfortable for winter roads with lots of uneven road and follow shots much better. Attach a picture with winter wheels.

Yes it will look good, but remember that you will not have a 245 on the rear wheels if they are wider than the front wheels, use four front wheels when you have x-drive. Because it would be wrong rotation speed rear wheels are berengnet for 275 wide tires. good luck.

I just received my set of Blizzak LM-60 245/40/19. Does the four front wheels still apply? Appreciate the help. |
