Motorway MPG
Lots of threads talk about mpg and how they vary so I thought I would share mine.
Picked up my 520d Touring yesterday. Did a motorway run today with cruise control set at 75mph, aircon going, sat nav running, music blaring etc, loaded up with 2 adults |

.....loaded up with 2 adults 3 kids, auto box set to normal and overall it returned 48mpg.
Very impressed with that as it's a big car. |

If I do a constant 78MPH in my 550i M Sport I get 28MPG (UK)and thats with 1000 miles only covered, this may improve a bit, but I doubt it.
That 8 speed box is the reason it's soooo good.

I have a heavy right foot and get 31 UK MPG (25.8 US MPG / 9.1 L/100km in my F11 535d) - not bad if not outstanding but as I say heavy feet don't help...

Even if money were no object and I could afford all the fuel in the world, I wouldn't buy a 550 because I'm too lazy to go to the petrol station every 3rd day. Lol.

I am getting 600 miles on a tankful on my 520 m sport. About mid 40's with a 50 mile round trip to work every day sitting at 50mph in the UK. Double what i got in my C180 Merc Sport.
I just love my car after 12 years of mercedes.

This is my first diesel ans apart from some extra noise it drives a lot sharper than my petrol Merc. I have the 8 speed auto box which i am sure helps but this is one sweet car.
A lot bigger and wider than my c class was and just love the hood lines and whole spec from front to rear. ~Yep i got the F10 M Sport luv bug lol
