Can anybody tell me whether the google and/or internet functions are up and running in the UK? If so how do I set it up?

Access from the car you mean? Yes that works. Haven't played with it much in the week I have had the car. Did a google search for supermarkets near my location which worked well. Have set up the news feed so I get an F1 rss

To be honest, it's faster and simpler from my iPhone.

Yes it works, if i remember once you have paired your phone as long as it is set to bluetooth it all works as soon as you get in the car, A cool feature is when on news the car reads it to you, sounds a bit robotic but great fun!
Hope your enjoying it Indus, took mine for a good run out and wasnt hanging about it did 37.9 mpg, compared to my m5 its almost a pleasure to put fuel in! lol.

Indus, takes afew days to go live then the online services will be available and highlighted in I-Drive,then off you go.

The BMW Online stuff uses the built in GSM radio - you don't need a phone in the car to be able to use it.
