2014 535i Xdrive, ConnectedDrive and Google MyInfo
Hello Fellow Members:
Just took delivery of my 2014 535i xDrive 2 weeks ago, love it to bits, except for one thing: I couldn't get Google Map MyInfo to work on my new F10. For us Canadians, ConnectedDrive is a separate, $850 option, and I do not think I have it on my F10, is the Google MyInfo functionality tied to ConnectedDrive option, hence I couldn't get it work on my car? I phone BMW Assist, and they confirmed that my vehicle does not have Remote Service and ConnectedDrive functionality enabled. Just wondering if other forum members have gone over the same thing, and have a clear answer on this topic! Cheers! P.S. I probably should've posted under the navigation section, but the General section gets a lot more traffic, so I thought I post this here instead. Last edited by BlueElectrin; 12-23-2014 at 10:47 PM.. Funny you should say that. I have the same observation and wondered the very same thing. I've tried repeatedly to get Google Map MyInfo to work without success, and I too did not purchase the ConnectedDrive option.

So my initial suspicion is correct, Google Map MyInfo functionality is tied to the optional ConnectedDrive package.
Kinda infuriating considering that this is a standard feature on my previous 2011 328 xDrive, and somehow this is an option on a "higher tier" vehicle. |

Happened to me too. My 2011 F10 had extended bluetooth which allowed me to see my e-mail and the google map thing as well, it was all part of the bluetooth. My 2014, I ordered with bluetooth, but not the $850 option that included traffic and internet because I don't need internet in the car. Turns out the e-mail feature of bluetooth and the google info are tied into that option. Wish I had know that. What is worse is it's all there to turn on but BMW won't do it. I am willing to pay for the option, but BMW won't allow it to be turned on. Just plain annoying. I know it can be coded, but I don't know how to do it.
